Chief Minister Nitish Kumar hails budget allocations for Bihar, including infrastructure projects and tax relief.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has expressed strong support for the Union Budget 2025, calling it a progressive step towards the state’s development. Kumar highlighted key provisions, including the establishment of a Makhana Board, greenfield airports, and financial assistance for the Western Kosi Canal project in Mithilanchal.
“The budget takes into account Bihar’s future needs. Increased international flight connectivity through new airports will benefit both residents and the state’s economy. Additionally, the expansion of Patna IIT will enhance technical education opportunities,” Kumar stated.
He also praised the tax relief measures, particularly the increase in the income tax exemption limit to ₹12 lakh, which he believes will significantly benefit the middle class. Other notable announcements include raising the credit limit for farmers under the Kisan Credit Card scheme from ₹3 lakh to ₹5 lakh and boosting MSME credit guarantees from ₹5 crore to ₹10 crore to encourage entrepreneurship.
With major allocations for agriculture, infrastructure, and economic growth, the Union Budget 2025 has been well received by Bihar’s leadership. As the state looks forward to implementing these projects, the long-term impact on Bihar’s development remains a key area of focus.
